STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF THE MAGAZINE ADVERTISEMENT OF ATKINS CHOCOLATE CHIP GRANOLA BAR – MIN LI

INTRODUCTION
Since this is a Stylistic Analysis of the Magazine Advertisement, two respects should be made clear: stylistic analysis and advertisement.
Stylistic analysis is a normal part of both linguistic and literary studies. Stylistic analysis in linguistics refers to the identification of patterns of usage in speech and writing. In linguistics the purpose of a close analysis is to identify and classify the elements of language being used. In literary studies the purpose is usually an adjunct to understanding, exegesis, and interpretation. In both cases, an extremely detailed and scrupulous attention is paid to the text. It is practiced as a part of understanding the possible meanings in a text. Stylistic analysis is generally concerned with the uniqueness of a text; that is, what it is that is peculiar to the uses of language in a literary text for delivering the message.

STYLISTIC ANALYSIS OF 40-LOVE BY McGOUGH - MEIHUA XU

INTRODUCTION

It is well known that in a variety of literary genres, the form of poetry has been stressed most. Efforts have been exerted on the skillful combination of rhythm and structure to create numerous great works all over the world. Modern American poet E. E. Cummings (1884-1962) is a good case in point. He is famous for odd style, novel and unique form in the poetic world. His “l (a” has been regarded as the “the most elegant and beautiful structure of the literature created by Cummings”. (Kennedy, 1980). Therefore, his poems are renowned as “poem picture” or “visual poetry”, or the concrete poetry that we are quite familiar with. The features of it is that vivid visual images of words coming from irregular syllables, letters, punctuation, syntax, format and print strengthen the internal imagination of poetry, deepen the artistic conception, convey and enrich the connotation. (Abrams, 2005). Coincidentally, besides E. E. Cummings, contemporary British poet Roger McGough (1937- ) is another master in writing concrete poems. His 40-Love can be considered as one of the greatest concrete poems.

Stylistic Analysis of "A Tale of Two Chances" by Paulo Bedonia Masangcay

INTRODUCTION
The essay deals with the two chances given to two persons by the Almighty. The first chance was for the father of the author, who had another chance of breathing the fresh air of the Earth and the other was for the author of the essay. He was given an exemplary chance of reuniting with his father whom he said he had cared less than his mother. “A Tale of Two Chances” really makes a person believes in the power of prayers and of God.
